We all want to get paid, and payment terms can make or break an international sale. With our partner organization, the Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington, (EFACW) we can take you through the unique aspects of selling overseas and getting paid.

Our experienced trade finance professionals can assist you in structuring payment terms for an individual transaction or for an entire marketing strategy. You will learn:

  • The importance of due diligence (determining if your foreign buyer has the capacity to pay).
  • How to choose the appropriate international sales terms (when to use Cash in Advance, Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Open Account, Credit Insurance or extended terms).

We can also assist you in accessing a wide array of Government and private sector resources to reduce transaction risks and mobilize financing for the sale. Serving as Washington State’s marketing partner for the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the EFACW works extensively with the Bank’s small-business programs:

  • Working capital guarantees (loan guarantee support for the U.S. exporter).
  • Export credit insurance (foreign Accounts Receivable guarantees).
  • Medium-term loan guarantees and insurance (end-user financing).
