Bond Users Clearinghouse

A repository of information about public debt

  • Requires password.  Contact the Clearinghouse if you haven't received yours yet.
 
  • Covers data on bonds issued in Washington State from 2000 to the present.
  • No password required.

The Bond Users Clearinghouse provides information on local government bond issuances and outstanding general obligation debt.  This information, which is available free of charge, is provided through five services:

  • Debt issuance data -- Posted monthly on an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Public Debt Bimonthly Update -- This newsletter, which is published six times per year, summarizes debt activity for the previous two months. 
  • The Public Debt Report -- This annual report analyzes trends in state and local debt activity.
  • Public debt archives -- Copies of debt issue official statements and other materials are available.
  • The GO Report -- Presents the results of an annual survey of municipal jurisdictions, and analyzes trends in levels of indebtedness.

Bond Users Clearinghouse forms, including Bond 101, Information Request, and Subscription forms, are available on the Bond User Documents page of this website.

STATUTORY AUTHORITY:

Chapter 39.44 RCW requires local governments or their agents to submit a Bond 101 Report on all debt issues within 20 days of issuance (see the Documents page for reporting forms).  In 1990, the statute was amended to require the annual surveying of local governments regarding their level of outstanding general obligation debt.
