Film and Video
The Washington State Film Office provides a leadership role in marketing the state for feature film, television and commercial production.  It enhances the local industry’s employment opportunities, profile and reputation within Washington and the industry nationally and internationally.

Over the last decade, efforts of the Film Office have brought in over $160 million in production spending and created over 20,000 local temporary jobs.

Once a production chooses WA State for filming, the Film Office focuses its efforts on facilitating the pre-production needs.  These can include:

  • Research
  • Location scouting and customized response packages
  • Permitting and resource information
  • Cutting red tape
  • Acting as a liaison between production companies, businesses, and local, state and federal agencies.
The office maintains an extensive on-line library of statewide locations, crew and vendor lists, to enhance local job creation.
