About the Community Services Division
The Community Services Division supports communities in building capacity and infrastructure to strengthen the health, safety, self-reliance and economic opportunity (employment or economic independence) of individuals and families. We accomplish this through management of federal and state programs that are integral to the development of thriving communities. Our strategy is to ensure and build local capacity to deliver services and promote justice so that families and communities are healthy, safe and self-reliant.

Division programs cover a broad range of community-based services, from emergency food assistance to retired senior volunteers. We also provide administrative support to the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council. Staff are organized into five workgroups:

    • Community Programs Unit
    • Developmental Disabilities Council
    • Office of Crime Victims Advocacy
    • Division Administration
    • WorkFirst
