Washington Coalition Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund BackgroundThe Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development (CTED), in conjunction with its local partners King County/City of Seattle, the City of Tacoma, and the City of Spokane have received awards totaling $6,300,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since October 2000 to fund a Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund (BCRLF) program. The Department of Ecology provides technical review of the cleanup projects. ServicesThe purpose of the BCRLF program is to facilitate public and private sector cleanup and redevelopment of commercial or industrial brownfield properties that are idled, underutilized or abandoned as a result of contamination (real or perceived).
